For further context twitter added a button that allows users to generate ai images using existing art posts from artists. It removes glaze and it basically reskins the artwork by using the existing work as a base. Twitter is no longer a safe space for art

The only "plan" these companies have is to either build AGI (which will not happen), or to get people addicted so they can raise prices to 10-100x what they currently are and hope people keep paying (unlikely!)

Every LLM company loses money on their LLMs, and not in a way that can be offset by scale - it's not just the big initial investment in datacenters, every LLM request costs the company several times what it makes in profits
Mass-adoption would just make these companies LESS profitable!

Lots of the problems with railguns only become an issue when you're trying to do ridiculous velocities with them, they do have a potential use-case as a niche sidegrade to conventional guns

If you've got a vehicle that already has a big integrated power supply, a railgun (assuming an actually-mature version of the tech, not what we have now) would be a more-expensive alternative to a conventional gun with a bit more range and the advantage of "not exploding when the ammo dump is hit"

You know, if I'm going to be honest, I've been a bit unfair to railguns - they do have advantages, it's just the "use railgun to make projectile go a billion kilometers per second" form of them that's useless, since it's expensive, unreliable, and contributes very little to effect on target
