Every now and again I remember that my parents have a Japanese friend who ran away from his salaryman life in Japan to become a lumberjack in America and renamed himself "Joe Smoke".

So, it turns out that "Asian herbs" and "ethnic flavour" mostly means 'lemongrass'. It was good though, as was the burger. I rescued the ENTIRE HALF LIME they put in the lime soda and squeezed some of it on the burger, which made it even better.

Today was Seijinshiki, coming of age day in Japan, when girls (and some guys) who turned 20 in the last year dress up in beautiful kimono and go to attend coming of age ceremonies with their friends. And I sneak around behind them and take photos because they look so pretttyyyyyyyy

Going modern now, it's Ado, a singer who was discovered online, and although she does live performances now, she's always super backlit so she just appears as a silhouette. And she's performing today on a traditional Noh stage and this is so my aesthetic.

Wellington airport is the best airport. (Caveat: apparently it's one of the scariest airports to fly into in the world, but we were fine because it wasn't very windy and we were flying out.) But anyway, all other airports henceforth will be a disappointment due to not having a giant blinking dragon.
