Does one of Canada's key Residential School Denialists have a track record as a long-time conspiracy theorist?

Maybe the @nationalpost.bsky.social, @wsj.com UK @telegraphnews.bsky.social & the Fraser Institute should double check their sources before they deny proven historic crimes.

VicPD tweeted a letter on the firing of the SD61 board that is 1) From their "union," the openly political arm of VicPD, 2) Includes a lie in the first sentence, and 3) Calls the firing a "successful day" that they attribute in part to police lobbying. Congrats police on your successful coup!

I only skimmed it today, but my initial takeaway was that if the board did make mistakes in consulting, it's a distraction. The advisor made recommendations on how to improve, and there were options short of firing them. It was always about the government buying into a police definition of "safety."

1. I am deeply disappointed in the @bcndp.bsky.social @lisabeare.bsky.social decision to fire the democratically elected Greater Victoria School Board today. I have fond memories of John Horgan’s support for the VSB when the BCLibs fired us. #bced #bcpoli

Firing an elected school board for trying to have a say over how police interact with students definitely fits for a party that campaigned on being better friends to the police than the conservatives. Police hurt people every day, and they shouldn't be in schools.
The subtext of SD61 pushing back against resurrecting the old SLO program is that policing in SD61 is racist; school discipline is racist; police in SD61 are violent (VicPD injures someone every 2.5 days); and when consulted, dozens of SD61 students reported negative interactions with SLOs.

Alberta just admitted that it's willing to bypass 🇨🇦 constitutional protections re: the right "to life, liberty and security of the person" and "not to be subjected to any cruel and unusual treatment" in order to uphold a GAC ban.

This is bad.

I'm saddened to report that Alberta has passed a gender affirming care ban for under 16s, which would ban puberty blockers and HRT way past the age most experience puberty.

This is not a population crisis—this is a commodity bubble created by investor enthusiasm and avarice.
Why the housing crisis is not an immigration problem
