Americans know the system is broken but a lot of us believe some really dumb things about universal healthcare, so in some circumstances talking about the positives of that system is helpful. Not so much an issue with leftists, but centrists and conservatives could do with some education.

Being in Israel for 2 weeks was the biggest mindfuck I've ever experienced. Constant gaslighting and propaganda. In 13 days Israelis turned a guy who wasn't paying too much attention to what was going on over there into a Palestinian ally for life.

When I was there a tour guide bragged about how well the Israelis treated the Bedouin and used them as an example of how Palestinians would be treated if they "laid down their weapons." The Bedouin village being used as an example lived in abject poverty.

Bernie Sanders, though too old to run IMO, is the most popular elected politician in the country with over 15 points better favorability than Newsom. So get out of here with that BS that Sanders loses the Dems anything. Pritker, AOC, and even Buttigieg are all better choices.

Nothing makes me falter into doomer thinking more than when I see people propping up Newsom. The abuser of the unhoused, the transphobe, the guy who is raising a kid that loves (loved) Charlie Kirk is going to save us? Really?! JFC.

Helping the GOP is running bad centrist candidates with no solutions or popular appeal. We literally just went through this with Harris, and now we have Trump again. So let's not keep making the same mistake over and over again.

That's an extremely weird accusation to make when you have no idea what my political activity has been for the last... ever. I think Mills will lose. I think she is completely out of touch with the needs of voters. Thus I want to find a better candidate. How is that helping the GOP?

Left wing populists tend to run with some of the most detailed policy platforms you will ever see from a political candidate. Right wing populists run on slogans. Corporate shills run on nothing or meaningless changes. For example, Janet Mills' website doesn't even have a policy platform.

Not arguing for Platner, and voters for the most part don't care to understand WHY things are getting worse. They just know things are getting worse. Things were getting worse with Biden/Mills. Things are still getting worse with Trump/Mills. So Mills has an uphill battle to defend her record.
