the only thing that makes me think i miss is it that it’s been a signifier of the winter and the holidays my whole life. and i have some really good memories of being snowed in with my family and friends. plus, frankly…… i always got the best gear and i like feeling superior to the unprepared.

hat, scarf, glove it up. power bank for sure. thick soled, comfy shoes would be ideal (thin soled shoes absorb cold from the ground).

it’s a fun time for sure! very cool to witness in person. people start getting there at noonish for the best view so the earliest you can get there, the better. (i had me a lil’ fold up pocket stool on deck, but my spot wasn’t the best because i had to work.)

layer up & take snacks! they close you in the gate at like 6, i wanna say, and you can’t leave until something like 9ish. i came straight from work & had luckily picked up dinner on the way but everybody around me was hungry & we were all chilly once the sun went down.

up at 6:30 & i was mad, NOT because i was up but because that means my body still ain’t adjusted to the dumb ass time change and i’m still waking up at the old 5:30 and not the new 5:30.
