The sexual assault trial of 5 hockey players is over, they were found not guilty. But many of us will never be confident that justice was served. The judge mishandled the trial, dismissed the jury and the alleged victim was subjected to day after day of interrogation by 5 different legal teams.

I've been hesitant to write something like this because I didn't want to give oxygen to Alberta separatists. The conversation alone is dangerous.

But with the threshold to a separation referendum lowered so dramatically, we can't let myths out there go unchecked. www.coreyhogan.ca/p/three-albe...

What do a former prime minister, a well-known philanthropist and a host of developers have in common?

Well, their names all emerged from @drewanderson.bsky.social's investigation into a tangled web of corporate ownership of delinquent companies in the oil patch.

If Canada is looking for nation-building projects that improve affordability, enhance reliability, reduce our reliance on the US, and set us up for the future, don’t have to look much further than interprovincial transmission.

By me and Philippe Dunsky:

Canada needs a nation-building project. It should start with interprovincial power transmission
The future is electric – and Canada should leverage its provinces’ complementary strengths and needs to build an east-to-west network and reach our full energy potential

Poilievre wants to kill the CBC. It’s a kind of move that authoritarians like Donald Trump do when they get power. Pierre P. is just like Trump.

There is a very credible threat that the country with the most powerful armed forces on the planet will take military action against Canada, and Danielle Smith believes that we are at risk of a "national unity crisis" because...it's too hard to get pipelines built. Utterly beyond parody.

Also? Kate was my boss at FAFIA when Harper came into power, slashed Status of Women's budget by 60% and defunded any work related to advocacy. So, we were forced to close.

It was the first of two times in my career this would happen.

Please trust those us reading the writing on the wall.
If you don't know Kate, let me introduce you to my dear friend.

While she was actively dying of cancer, she testified to Parliament and said her dying wish was for women to matter in our budgets and policy decisions.

She was the best of us and I miss her a lot.

Premier Danielle Smith’s choice to keep company with this person is truly a disgrace to the office, the oath we swear when we go in to cabinet, the flag and the country.

Not the first time she’s disgraced Canada. Recall she was ashamed to wear the poppy during the pandemic.
FWIW this is what Shapiro had to say about the US annexing Canada:

“I feel they will greet us as liberators”

“It’s a silly country”

“I’m not saying Canadians should vote in American elections. God forbid. We can annex it and just call it an outlying territory. Like Puerto Rico, but of the north.”
