This is true, but there were leaders guiding the movements back then. There was a strategy and people followed it. We don't really have any true leaders now in the Democratic Party and the members are too fractured to coalesce.

Dems proposed a 1-year extension of ACA subsidies as a compromise, but R’s say that’s a non starter. No compromise… Yeah, this shutdown is on the GOP!
