I am really missing Kevin.

Matt's remembrance is very good at saying why so many people liked me depended on Kevin's reporting and analysis and graphs (!) to give us a thoughtful view of the world and of events.

Plus cats and beautiful photos.

Yes. But they are missing that much of this has to be performative. That’s what Trump is great at and Dems are awful at.

You can’t just tell voters , you have to know how to sell voters.

Trump gives sales pitches, Dems show charts. One goes viral. The other is ignored and forgotten
This was the way.

Sean Philips: Fucking hero status, unlocked.

These signs are real and were posted in DFW Airport bathroom stalls, but it’s an epic level troll. Those “cameras” are the self-flushing sensor. That phone number? Straight to Dan Patrick’s office.

To whomever posted these, you have my deepest respect.

Also, follow Pete. He just got here today.
You are not powerless, and he is not unstoppable. Look at, and learn from, the funding freeze and how quickly he was forced to surrender.

How long will we have the WaybackMachine? I've always been nervous about having all the important data of the modern world-scientific data, historical documents, personal memories-stored on something as ephemeral as electrons in a cloud."You can always find it on the WaybackMachine" does not reassure
a good part of me thinks that in addition to everything else, the reason they are scrubbing these stories is they do not want disadvantaged kids to believe they can aspire to anything other than their designated “black” or “hispanic” or “woman” job
This profile has been scrubbed from the site. Rose Ferreira grew up without reliable electricity, immigrated to NY, then survived homelessness and cancer on her way to NASA. She was so moved by images from the Webb telescope she wept. This is what’s at stake

Do you think Musk and Trump engage in this creation of mayhem for the thrill of destruction? As an end in itself, even if there are other motives? Barry Blitt drew Musk as the leader of the gang in “A Clockwork Orange”.

I think it's important now to remember this moment, when Barbara Jordan spoke for America. How do we get to a moment like this again?

I used to get frustrated when people didn't know things that I thought were common knowledge, but then I realized how much I probably don't know from their domain of expertise (You can't judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree). I'm a lot happier with the new framing and enjoy getting to share.

Lisbon is constant contrasts. Walking down a large busy street today I paused to snap a “possibly artsy photo of a ruin with crane and winter trees.” Turned 180° and snapped what was behind me across the street.
