2/4. The entire practice of the Holocaust of the Jews involved zones of statelessness. It is easier to move people away from law than it is to remove law from people. Almost all of the killing took place in artificially created stateless zones.

Liberals these days do not want to talk about the fact that democracy is how we got to where we are. They blame SCOTUS or gerrymandering or money in politics, etc. All of that is a product of democracy too. Let's be honest with ourselves.

The 2024 election had conditions in which voters chose between democracy and the rule of law, and the rule of law lost. And now, democracy -- the liberal kind that we want -- is dead and there's no telling when it will come back.

Of course, the question is: what's the alternative. There is none. Democracy is the best humanity can do. But let's not talk about as if everyone understands what it is. It can be liberal. It can be illiberal. It can be authoritarian.
