Creative generalist with a particular fondness for fiction and fiber arts. Caretaker-in-residence of a 115-year-old house and its ghosts, along with 3.5 cats. I like penguins A LOT.
Cannot un-taste that.

Really says something that the GenAI prompt of (I assume) "Most 'Murrica" results in two different bison-based gryphons, a combination bullet/pocketknife/prescription bottle, and a well-executed trash panda.

The number of times we have told the cats (really just the torbie) "pets are available...right here...just take ONE step closer" only to be met with the cat stare of "insufficient arm length sounds like a You problem. Now get over here with the skritchies."

To quote the cook: "until the squash starts to get kinda translucent and it mashes when I smush it with a spoon...couldn't say for sure in minutes, maybe 10?" That is for 1cm squash cubes. Lid on and off in turns to balance steaming with not being waterlogged.

From @cyrelia-j.bsky.social who does amazing things with winter squash:
1. saute/roast in olive oil with salt, curry powder and cumin
2. Squashage: brown bulk sausage in skillet, then add cubed squash to pan with sausage & drippings and cook until tender
3. Squash risotto with sage

Words that come to mind: away, nature, wildlife, unaltered (by humans).
I was going to attach a photo of temperate rainforest, but the fact that I would have had to crop out a mile marker for Highway 101 really undercut any claim of wilderness.

The only problem I see is insufficient shelf space.
