Friends who have traded in traditional front door locks for keypad locks, how are you liking them?

And did you go with the version that has a back-up key lock? Or straight keypad lock?

Thanks!

"I don’t really trust my voices, but I trust my body’s responses to the voices. When my body can make me go, “Oooooh!” I’m like, “Okay, bro, you found it.” Man, ain’t nothing like that feeling." @kiese.bsky.social

I walked four hours today. Cried all over Boston and Cambridge. Saw some art as well as a modern dance performance.

Lots of convos with terrified friends and neighbors, many of whom are planning on leaving Ohio.
Today, Nazis proudly protested in what used to be my neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio. I lived on that block for five years.

As my friend Kiese Laymon has said “there’s no safe [for us] in America, only safer.”

I’m staying where it’s safer.

And I know my worth and needs.

Godspeed.

And I gotta say, so far it seems like if any platform will foster this balance, it's this place
One lesson I think a lot of us learned in the 1st Trump era is that keeping ourselves in a constant state of outrage & panic didn't help anything. Being informed is one thing, but cortisol-poisoning ourselves is another. Idk how to strike that balance, but glad to see I'm not alone in wanting to

Gorgeous essay by Cindy Lamothe.

"Before motherhood, I didn’t understand how chaos and calm could coexist within a person. I didn’t understand that the space I craved was more than physical—it was the room to become, to grow into something beyond myself."
