A local walk today (bit windy so no bike ride) resulted in seeing a swathe of wildflowers along a very busy relief road - kidney vetch, ox eye daisies and stunning pyramidal orchids were everywhere! A real feast for the eyes #wildflowerhour

Just downloaded the Merlin ID app I’ve seen recommended by others interested in identifying local birdsong. It works pretty well actually, and it’s free! Here are my results from my back garden:

Fantastic bike ride today around a couple of local villages, signs of Spring everywhere - native bluebells peeking out of the hedgebanks, lesser celandines, and blackthorn blossom everywhere. Not good for hayfever sufferers though….!

Excellent bike ride up to the Ridgeway to see the spot where 55 Viking skeletons were discovered in a pit; their heads were in a separate pit 🫢.

Boring but essential jobs in the garden today - assembling the plastic greenhouse ready for seed sowing! Oh and assembling the shiny new wheelbarrow ready for moving a ton of top soil tomorrow!
