“Trump’s order to indiscriminately freeze federal aid and grants is illegal, willfully ignorant, and cruel. Federal funding that provides essential assistance, like helping families heat their homes, keeping health care centers open, ensuring our kids are fed, and housing the vulnerable is now in jeopardy. "As this was clearly another one of Trump’s impulsive actions that neglects the well-being of everyday Americans, there is still a lot of uncertainty. I will continue to monitor the situation and do everything I can to ensure people in Illinois continue to receive the assistance they need.”
