Wow! This read-along of the NYT moment-by-moment leading to the murder of Alex Pretti should shake everyone awake. He was a Good Samaritan.

Agents fired at least ten shots in roughly five seconds. DHS and Pam Bondi claim Pretti approached them armed and intent on a “massacre.”

CARNEY: “.. You cannot live within the lie of mutual benefit through integration when integration becomes the source of your subordination.” 🔥
Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, a stable financial system... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "

• Red State Florida has 1.6 M undocumented immigrants

• Blue State Minnesota has 130,000.

And yet only Minnesota is being occupied by masked thugs over "immigration."

It's *not* about immigration.

Just a reminder: there was a Biden administration investigation into Epstein and Maxwell's co-conspirators. Trump killed it in January, fired the prosecutors, stole the files, & ordered Bondi to open a new sham investigation, led by a handpicked prosecutor, so DOJ wouldn't have to release the files.

It's just so sad and pathetic to think that Marco Rubio of all people—who long reviled Putin and who spent his Senate career championing human rights—would be reduced to echoing Neville Chamberlain ("A quarrel in a faraway country, between people of whom we know nothing").
Marco Rubio: "Life in America on a daily basis will be largely unaffected whether there's peace in Ukraine or not. That's just a fact. We have a lot of issues we're focused on not just at home, but around the world."

The "Summit" was a hastily arranged play date between a dictator and a wannabe. No advance negotiations or frameworks. They put more time into laying red carpets and putting up fancy backdrops than settlement discussions. What a farce. Nobel prize my a$$.

@smerconish.bsky.social Part of what differentiates Dems has been their willingness to work across the aisle to create meaningful reforms. Remember the Biden border bill that was tanked for political purposes? Methods matter as the right will learn in the mid-terms.

North Carolina voted for Trump in 2016, 2020, and 2024—now he’s denying the state’s FEMA request. Again.
