Next time, & especially if the Republicans refuse to vote on the ACA subsidies as promised, the Democrats will have more leverage & fewer people will be impacted In other words, no one will DIE for lack of food

AND not pay federal workers who had been furloughed by this shut down!!

Now, SNAP recipients & federal workers are protected from some of the effects of the NEXT shit down AND, babies aren't STARVING!

All of this is horrible. None of this is good. Yes, people are going to get hurt, some may die. Y'all need to understand that the REPUBLICANS were willing to starve BABIES to get wtf they wanted. Which was to cause harm by not renewing ACA subsidies. AND cut SNAP benefits AND fire federal workers

Did have to file bankruptcy, when I could afford to do so. But, I STILL got care.
You can NOT walk into a grocery store & say, "Hey, I'd like some food, I'm starving & have them give you food." Period.

Food? Much more difficult to acquire if you don't have SNAP benefits or $$.
I let those hospital bills rack up. Fuck it. Hospitals do have programs that assist w/ that, they even paid for the meds necessary to make me well again. I still owed them $ I couldn't pay & eventually

while uninsured. ALL of those times & there were multiple, I eventually went to a hospital & received care. I was billed for it & that bill went UNPAID.
The last one cost nearly 35k just for ONE of the visits to the ER. But, they DID treat me.

I NEED y'all to understand that I HAVE been in this position & I'm telling you there ARE no good choices anymore. Not w/ Republicans in charge.
If the choice is Between saving Healthcare & saving SNAP, I'd ALWAYS choose SNAP.

Yes. Yes it does. We've been working on this since the 90s, but, it was the 2016 election that started really pushing more conservative LGBTQ+ folks left & into increased voter participation. Since then, we've consistently improved. Hoping we continue. But, that's part of why we've been targeted..
