This is a list of practices that together offered a (partial) picture of the distinctive habitus of early Christians. We could do worse in putting together a program of renewal and expectations for members. 📕 (From *The Patient Ferment of the Early Church*)

It feels like @benjamindcrosby.bsky.social has provided me with a diagnosis for a sense of dis-ease I have long had.
"How do you nurture genuine faith when everyone thinks they know what Christianity is, but actual knowledge and commitment are lacking?"

@benjamindcrosby.bsky.social covers so much that I have long pondered.

One thing that Christians who want to fight back against Christian nationalism probably need to recognize is we gotta get the Bible down cold. We need to have large parts of it memorized chapter and verse. We need to have it memorized in versions those churches use.

Today was my last day at St. James. I thought I was going to make it through the service without crying but the concluding prayer got me in the end. Looking forward to going home and excited about my new role but there is a lot I'm going to miss here.

As far as the 95 Theses go, we can all agree at this point that Luther was right, yeah?
