Email just went out from @aoc.bsky.social to her massive email community

- no tacky ask to sign a petition
- no craven and shameless ask donation - not even a donate button

Just laying out plainly how she believes Trump has launched an illegal war and that is grounds for impeachment.

Leader.

Incredible.

What was your callsign, Kai?

Do you happen to have the text of the order yet? I know it's unlikely to be published until next week w/the Register...

If President Trump is permitted to carry through with this behavior, without clear censure by the Courts, it would fundamentally damage, if not outright destroy, the government's ability to do much of anything! 🧵

Less generously, it's a misleading marketing statistic -- random read/write speeds rather than sequential speeds (the big numbers) are what we actually encounter on a day to day basis.

Either way, good news is you can't really go wrong with SSDs from high quality manufacturers these days.

For what it's worth, it's a very reasonable thought. On paper speeds doubling between generations seems great, but (generously) the software and other hardware hasn't really caught up enough to take advantage of it yet.

Realistically I think there's almost nothing you could do on a regular basis to notice the difference between any two high quality SSDs in the same slot. Side by side there might be a couple seconds (max!) between loading games but on a real-world basis random reads would be indistinguishable imo.

Or the 5 overworked staffers who actually write the report will make several boring errors (e.g. not understanding regional variance in Agency offices) that call into question the validity of their recommendations.

Yeah, true. The Discourse today made me think he lost by at lot... but he came second by 6 points (600 votes?) in what seems to be a fairly competitive primary. And raised $100k doing it! Actually very impressive.

Working in broadband policy for the last 2 years, it's been extremely obvious to myself + any state I've worked with that EBB & ACP have been extremely impactful in increasing high-speed adoption! I fear we'll see a lot of these families drop internet services altogether again...
