online employer is now taking the hard non-negotiable stance that even if my clients agree to it i can not bill them for time scheduled i am required to be present for the full time but i can not bill for the full time i am present. how is this even remotely legal.

between having to wait until next week if i can potentially get a job and now my only other jobs deciding to no longer pay me except for points where either myself or the student are talking at any given time i am really reaching a limit i jsut want it to stop being bad

i argued for a while today about the payments policy with my employer and i think it is now clear they are attempting to gut the payment system with an inconsistent and overly broad application of the policy to avoid paying me and other employees for our time worked.

im not going to know until early next week if nih has funded a grant for me to potentially have a job and if they havent then i have no career and am being told to give up and just go back to being a cook or janitor i use to research childhood cancer dude

this is the only job i have right now and they're taking the stance of "if someone schedules a ride and then cancels it while you drive them you still have to drive them and we're not going to make them pay you."

i hate the company i work for that just says yes to everything their clients say. i have to pay back $15 because a student isn't happy they had to pay for reserving an hour session but only used 5 minutes. no other business works like this.

A lesser part of what I've been dealing with has been this to. I have friends who are good natured and trying to help, people I have worked with in the past who are trying to be supportive. But to have my PhD be reduced to "You should just be a teacher or do something else." always hurts to hear.

woke up at 5am to teach kids only for them to cancel sessions so now what was supposed to be 4 hours of teaching to get paid for, now I only get 2 due to cancelling. I hate this job.

every day is just so stressful waiting for the hope of a potential job and emails from people that I have applied with only to keep getting emails like "this position has been terminated due to lack of funding." just nothing but a year of this.

Being blocked from applying to certain institutes because I was applying for jobs at those institutes has now put me in a position where I have no idea what to do because applying now means I just get permanently blocked for future applications.

I'm having to argue with a student to get them to read their notes before trying to do their assignment and they just don't want to do it. I wish I could work a job that uses my degree and experience instead of trying to get AI using kids to do work.
