Trying to be a serious person, but probably thinking about X-Men and Star Trek.
lol at "I wouldn't be able to do it." I will get Bond out of that predicament with two lines of dialogue a la X-Men. "Weren't you dead?" "I got better." Done. Give me $250k.

Legit I think the era of “free” content is almost over and to be honest I’d rather pay creators than platforms and I’d rather see what they make clearly than try to glimpse it behind ads. Stereogum is going to get my money.

Oh my GOD I hate it so much. *Every* time my phone makes a noise I don’t want it’s because I accidentally tapped or swiped something on Instagram and it started blaring out some bullshit reel audio.

Part of me wonders if the current editorial remit at Marvel is to avoid any classic/overly trad status quos in favour of finding the next Falcap, Jane-Thor, Sakaar Hulk etc. that the movies can use. What else explains basically every book being so far off model?

It’s better than Spencer’s run, but it’s sort of surprising to me how thin the margin is given that Wells is capable of stuff like Hellions. I don’t want to blame the editors too much, but if multiple writers can’t make the book work then there’s something going on that’s fundamentally not working.

Yeah, I rewatched it because my partner hadn’t seen it but I don’t think I’ll go back for a third round ever. Definitely want to revisit superman though.

I deleted Facebook and don’t regret, not least because this sort of thing kept happening with my own family members.

When people like stuff this much it sometimes makes me go "maybe I don't want to get involved in something that's going to take up a lot of brain space" but also you'd have to actively threaten me to make me watch a TV show with Jonathan Ross on in 2025, so... y'know.

Genuinely I don’t know any! I’m fairly new to watching video essays in general and all the algo-recommended comics ones aren’t doing it for me. Will check her work out though, thanks!

I bought maybe the first 3 or 4 issues and I can't recall a single thing from them. I despair a bit of Marvel's lineup at the moment. There's some good stuff out there but there are a lot of uninspiring, unengaging books.

Genuinely at first I thought you’d quoted a photo of Charlotte Richie where she looked like Margot Kidder.

So much about this is (at best) embarrassing and (at worst) unethical, but the idea that it was someone's job to repeatedly roll the dice on a prompt until it spat out something usable is actively dystopian. Congrats on your degree, you're now employed as one of the infinite monkeys at a typewriter.
