I'm watching people in my feed screaming at each other over Firefox's "AI kill switch" this morning with some trepidation.

As far as I'm concerned, Firefox already has an AI kill switch. It's called `browser.ml.chat.enabled`, I set it to `false` more or less the day it appeared, it hasn't […]

Ok, I’m getting into internet dad mode here. So caveat scrollar. Or something.

Primary every Democrat, jesus christ what good are they.
Here are the 28 Dem Senators who voted to advance the first federal ban on trans athletes & a federal definition of sex that would make trans & intersex people non-existent: Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Tammy Baldwin (WI), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), Chris Coons (DE), ->
By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).

I've started using Amazon Linux 2023 in AWS. It's free, similar to Fedora/Red Hat, and has the necessary certs that the US govt requires. It was pretty easy to create an image builder pipeline. Unfortunately, the enable FIPS part wasn't getting triggered. I had to create a new component to make […]

Discovered that ECA certificates on a smartcard don't work on #macos 15 Sequoia. PIV smartcards do show up and work correctly. If you need to use ECA certs, you have to install Firefox and ActivClient.

Identrust provides ActivClient in the software download section after you've logged in. You […]

A friend is using the ACA exchange since the small business they work for doesn't provide insurance. There are only 12 employees. Since they don't qualify for subsidies. His premium is going from $1000 to $1300.
