I made a video for YouTube, and it's strictly for my fellow fans of 80's funk, R&B, AOR, and Japanese city pop. It's a supercut (do people still make those?) chronicling the ubiquity of a certain rhythmic figure in funky music from that era. Watch before it inevitably gets taken down for copyright.

On a related note, I really, irrationally hate the modern "ironic" hipster-y aesthetic send-up of the 1970's. I can't explain why, but it's annoying as fuck to me.

I got one of these as change for something recently, and I had no idea they put Nixon on an American currency.
Freakin' NIXON? Well, several other Presidents came along and lowered the bar for corruption and abuse of power even further, so maybe he seems like a statesman to some people these days.
