But Canadian all the way.
Oh my fav bagel.
I only did pizza for nine years, but after that (relatively) short time I got so used to the feel of dough that I could judge temperatures within two degrees by hand, nail weights without a scale, and get a full pie from phone to oven in twenty seconds.

All labor is skilled labor.
This video from Fairmount Bagels in Montreal from their Instagram is the most impressive thing I've ever seen

Veteran photographer Michael Nigro was shot in the head with a non-lethal bullet while covering anti-ICE protests in LA. "It felt very very intentional," Nigro tells NPR, "a chilling effect to convince us to go away."

Other reporters say they have been targeted too.

Jesus. It's so totally totally didn't have to be like this.

University administrations are fully captured by corporate interests; we will never know the full extent of the inside deals that have plugged AI into every layer of University software contracts.
“‘Through AI Fluency, Ohio State students will be ‘bilingual’ — fluent in both their major field of study and the application of AI in that area,’ Ravi V. Bellamkonda, executive vice president and provost, said.” 😵

NEW: I analyzed nearly 300 federal cases involving the Trump administration. Federal judges—across the political spectrum—are using language I’ve never seen before. One called government actions “unconscionable.” Another quoted Kafka. They’re begging us to pay attention.

We have to ask ourselves: How do these student contribute to the USA. Is it purely economical? International students contributed $44 billion to the U.S. economy in the 2023-2024 school year.

Their loss could hurt more than just universities’ bottom line.

Just talking to my comrades and realise they don't actually have an Eisner ballot, as they're not registered.

So, I'm lobbing this in public - anyone in comics (creators, retailers, librarians, educators, editors, whoever) can apply here and vote before June 5th.

Which makes it the perfect opportunity to reach out to your legislators and insist that they protect intellectual freedom at all levels of education and all stages of life.

Jules Feiffer (1929-2025). A protean talent -- cartoonist, playwright, screenwriter, novelist, essayist, kids book author. His psychological acuteness for how people lie to themselves had few peers. This 1967 cartoon about Lyndon Johnson anticipated LBJ's own self-defense in 1971.

Kindness isn't weak; it is strong. Kindness still punches out Nazis, but it also focuses on helping, sharing, protecting and advising. Kindness speaks for those without voices, houses those without shelter, shares with those without food. Kindness is resistance.
I know this sounds weak, I know it.

But kindness is one of the few things we carry that can make a difference for each other.

We can’t undo all this hate, but we can still make life a little easier for others.
