Today the Deputy Prime Minister and I visited a Youth Offending Team and Youth Court to see firsthand the work they do and the challenges they face.
I’m determined to build a better system to prevent reoffending, support vulnerable children and create safer communities.

This week I attended the Conference of Ministers for Justice, advancing cross-border legal cooperation.
⚖️ I signed a new agreement to strengthen justice cooperation.
👮♂️ This is vital to tackling international crime, including people smuggling and illegal migration.

International human rights laws, and the ECHR, will be subject to change over the coming years. The question now is: who will lead this change?

The Tories can’t have it both ways.
Do they support investment in our NHS, and the difficult decisions made to pay for it?
Or are they happy with growing waiting lists, crumbling hospitals and more ill-health?
Until they answer that, they are not remotely serious.

The Chancellor changed Tory fiscal rules last autumn so we could properly invest in Britain’s security and prosperity. This was the change the country needed - and voted for.
A very welcome statement yesterday by the Chancellor using these new tools for the country’s priorities. 🌹👇

Brexit voters can see the need for deals with the EU

Labour is the Party of working people - and we must always support people to work if they can, whilst ensuring those who cannot live with dignity.
That’s good for the individual, their families, our communities, and wider society.
