Justice Minister. Dad.
It was important to welcome Nick Timothy to his role replacing Robert Jenrick as Shadow Justice Secretary.

I hope he learns the lessons of his predecessor and adopts a more thoughtful approach. 👇

At the heart of our changes to the justice system is bolstering protections for victims.

We are announcing plans to ensure all victims get free access to sentencing transcripts.

An important win for brilliant victim groups campaigners

Opening of the Herbert Chapman plaque in Kiveton Park - what an honour!

Even as a Spurs fan, remembering this Arsenal and Kivo legend with some of his family members was just brilliant.

Remembering the past, but also investing in football across South Yorkshire. ⚽️

Great to start the day speaking with Emily and Amelia, who are in the final of a local talent competition!

They are brilliant, and took me through their plans for preparing for the big final in February! Good luck - you’ll be fantastic.

The news today?

Reform = backwater for Tories who failed over 14 years. 🥸

Tories = weak and divided by more psychodrama. 🤪

Labour government = waiting lists in our NHS drastically reduced and economic growth up. 🌹

I was asked if I had any advice for Robert Jenrick.

He was a Health Minister when NHS waiting lists rocketed.

He was an Immigration Minister as illegal migration soared.

Hang up your political boots and try something new, Rob.

Thank you to Shirley - who has been campaigning for road safety measures in her community for 30 years. She told me she’d never felt heard or properly listened to.

I brought her petition to Downing Street, and am now speaking to the Council leader tonight about her concerns.

One of my New Year resolutions is to improve literacy provision in our prisons.

This is vital to reducing reoffending and improving rehabilitation.

So excited to work with @LeeChildReacher on this important issue. Watch our chat about the work👇

A question the Tories are avoiding:

Should Abramovich’s money from the Chelsea sale go to Ukraine?

Their silence would be shocking, if you didn’t know their Shadow Attorney General was also Roman Abramovich’s lawyer!

The Tories can’t have it both ways.

Do they support investment in our NHS, and the difficult decisions made to pay for it?

Or are they happy with growing waiting lists, crumbling hospitals and more ill-health?

Until they answer that, they are not remotely serious.
