Ok apparently this is actually not widely known: Gov. Shapiro withdrew Pennsylvania from RGGI today as part of a deal to pass a now-4month overdue budget.
So.....did no one else notice that Pennsylvania just dropped RGGI?

Wow. @espn.com changed the way they show #NBA box scores and it is very disorienting after seeing the same standard format for decades. Why the change?

Nice to see Massachusetts working on electricity rates to improve the affordability of heat pumps. Rate design can be a great way to overcome the "spark gap" barrier.

I understand the need for this trade, but I'll miss KP. He looked like was genuinely having fun playing for the Celtics.

Grrrrr
Effectively a full repeal of the largest climate bill in history. There’s no strategy for America’s future. We all get sicker and pay more in energy bills and suffer climate disasters, while some rich folks pay less in taxes. That’s it. Disgraceful.
The House Republican's budget bill is starting to drop. It extends trillions in tax cuts for the wealthy while effectively crippling US manufacturing & energy industries and raising energy costs. It's effectively full repeal of the IRA. Here's tax portion waysandmeans.house.gov/wp-content/u... 🔌💡

#energysky - is there a resource out there that will help me figure out the average breakout of natural gas delivery and supply charges? I'm trying to get to the average cost of each on a per therm/ccf basis. Thank you!

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

Tariffs on energy imported from Canada will increase prices all around. But higher prices also mean higher avoided costs from energy efficiency. How does this affect programs' cost effectiveness? My latest post digs in.

Wow. Just because you stop measuring it doesn’t mean the climate crisis isn’t happening.
The Trump administration is planning to cancel its lease at a government laboratory in Hawaii, a site where scientists support key observations of surging greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere, according to a list obtained by Democratic members of Congress and shared with The Post.
Trump moves to close facility that helps track planet-warming pollution
The lab is connected to the Mauna Loa Observatory, where scientists gather data to produce the Keeling Curve, a chart on the daily status of atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations.

CT’s PUC sets a great example for other states. I hope they can withstand this pressure.
The most important climate fight in the country right now is in Connecticut.

If the investor-owned utilities there succeed in their naked attempt to knock off their top regulator, the chilling effect on other PUC commissioners' willing to challenge utility capture nationally could be devastating.

This doesn't just affect data centers but for EVs, heat pumps, industrial electrification, etc.). Demand flexibility can be used to solve problems for all of those areas. And it's much cheaper than building out new generation and T&D!

The fed government has so many amazing data sets that I use regularly, including ACS data for weighting survey results, local weather data for energy models, EIA data for utility info, and CBECS/RECS data for building information. If they go away, the impacts will be significant and widespread.
Trump is purging vital scientific data, including a climate-justice tool for the health and financial well-being of millions of Americans. There's a Data Dunkirk saving this data, but there shouldn't have to be
