Also for those commenting on the “vote blue no matter who” that comes in AFTER we have picked our candidates. It’s VBNMW against republicans in the final races.

I feel like... it's one thing to not shop at Target anymore. that's ONE store. not a corporation that emcompasses pretty much all of entertainment.

I think it is unfair to the other people that company employs to boycott literally ANYTHING afilliated. it's easier to pick and chose which parts to boycott. especially when it's a company that owns like 70% of mainstream media.

Now is exactly the correct time for making sure presidential hopefuls know how to win our votes. ALWAYS is the right time for that.

But also it's not 2027. Why are people scolding us about a hypothetical general election ballot like it's the Trolly Problem? Who benefits from this argument?

And again, I thought we all agreed on JB Pritzker/Tim Walz? 😅 (Or heck, even Kamala if she runs again)

Gavin is totally juiceless, slimy, etc

And yeah, we still have literally years until 2028, so people should def relax :P

People are going into frenzies because Newsom's redistricting proposal made them feel real hope & they're clutching desperately at lifelines in a sea of Trumpian misery. I get that. I even get the argument of harm mitigation.

But picking fights with the Left over Newsom is the *illusion* of action

If you hate him, don't meme him into being a serious candidate.

People's affections are going to waver anyways. We are really, really early in anything like a primary process & it's rare for the supposedly strong early candidate to actually make it all the way through of late.

It's not even just that, Gavin Newsom is *specifically* not especially popular as a governor in CA anymore and basically only gets really positive press when he's fighting Republicans or stoking blue state CA resentment. His own state dislikes the idea of him as President.

You will probably have that choice along with Walz, and Buttigieg in this thing we call primaries. I don't know why people think Newsom is some sort of done deal. Wouldn't vote for him a primary, but what he is doing now is important because these midterms determine whether we have primaries.
