In that paper, lead author Una Miller (now at @cornelluniversity.bsky.social), will explore the potential consequences of fluctuations (or a climate-driven slowdown) in Labrador Sea deep convection on the supply of oxygen to the rest of the North Atlantic. ...we've got a paper in review to explain the final steps in Jannes's schematic - the oxygen export in the Deep Western Boundary Current. The Labrador Sea may come at the "end of the line" for subpolar circulation, but its role is critical for delivering oxygen to a huge volume of the ocean (2/3).

I'm curious how physically-demanding the work is? Like when you are 50+, can you still do it and, if not, are there less physical pieces of the job you can do at that point?
