Similar to income tax, in that inequality is a yawning crevasse but the proposed solution seems to be making those with less pay more.

So how have we arrived at a situation where everything is falling apart, we're paying more for it, and action is (rightly or wrongly) scoffed at?

Genuine question, because this also links into the income tax debate: rail fares being enormously high ("it's cheaper to fly to Cornwall" etc) is a huge public bugbear. Then, when there's action taken to alleviate it in some way, apparently rail fares HAVE to be high.

So what's the actual answer?

Britain permanently being stuck between the twin contradictory impulses of "David Cameron is just like me!" and secretly yearning for patrician rule.

Jeremy Hunt is great at sounding reasonable out of office, and then in office apparently being venal and destructive.

Is it also possible that the lack of breadth insulates Starmer to some degree? i.e. why bother defenestrating only to get another Starmer-type?

I was so sure this was another Musk.

So I'm gonna throw a curveball and say MALCOLM GLADWELL

Maybe I'm crazy, but I feel like replacing the buzzword of "delivery" with "working hard and getting things done" solves most of the problem.

'Delivery' is corporate management talk.
