Panda Bear's "Sinister Grift" was my favorite album of 2025. Give it a listen. Swirling harmonies, moody pop hooks, music best listened to at dusk on a beach. Best comp is Beach House.

#Bears are absolutely for real. They can do damage in the playoffs. Next week against Green Bay is a truly giant game.

I'm very glad that the tawdry story out of Ann Arbor is NOT trending on BlueSky. Gives me hope for society and for this app.

WOW!
Well that's big news

Quentin Tarantino is literally the only person in the world who thinks Paul Dano can't act. Am I wrong here?

The maneuverings of Notre Dame and the ACC are fascinating to watch. Notre Dame absolutely deserved to get in over Alabama, who will most assuredly get bounced in the first round. But ACC's coordinated media campaign seemed to slander ND as much as boost Miami.

Notre Dame AD: ACC caused 'permanent damage'
Notre Dame's AD ripped the ACC after its CFP snub, saying the conference that houses almost every Fighting Irish team has caused "permanent damage" to the relationship.

I would have never guessed that a series about Christian Dior and Coco Chanel would be this great, but here we are! Can't recommend this enough, on Apple TV. John Malkovich's weird French accent alone is worth your time.

Things I have learned: Lou Reed received electroshock therapy at age 17, ostensibly to cure his "depression" and social isolation, but more likely to "treat his homosexual tendencies".

Interesting, well-researched and often infuriatingly pretentious book on Lou Reed, by Will Hermes. Almost finished, and will have more to say later on this month.

"If it feels like a reach to compare All Them Witches to titans like Zep and Sabbath, take a listen through what they've produced (and how they've produced it) in the short give years they've been together."

I'll be seeing these guys Thursday night at the Globe Iron and will report back.

I will not panic about the Cleveland Cavaliers. I will not panic about the Cleveland Cavaliers. I will not panic about the Cleveland Cavaliers. I will not panic about the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Season 2 of "A Man on the Inside" is uneven in spots, but the joke writing remains superb. It's great to see Ted Danson do his thing, and Lilah Richcreek makes the perfect contrast. Plus Mary Steenburgen, Gary Cole, Stephen McKinley, and HILARIOUS turns by Max Greenfield and Jason Mantzoukas.

Charlie Brown. Only you could be so bold. The Imperial Senate will not sit still for this!
No, Charlie Brown; I expect you to die.
Forget it, Charlie Brown! You're out of your element.

Richard Linklater's new film "Nouvelle Vague" follows the typical how-was-this-movie-made formula, and recounts the making of "Breathless". Linklater honors Jean-Luc Godard by shooting the film in Paris, in black and white, and making it as French as possible. Recommended, on Netflix.

I forgot to give flowers to Jacob Elordi for his terrific performance as the Creature in "Frankenstein". Worth your time.
November 20, 2025 at 3:42 PM
Guillermo del Toro's "Frankenstein" is available on Netflix, and every shot in this film feels like a work of art. Oscar Isaac and Christoph Waltz deliver powerhouse performances. But the film isn't very scary (despite heavy gore), and isn't that the point?

The #Browns could be starting Otto Graham, Brian Sipe and Bernie Kosar combined at QB these days, and the results would be the same. QB isn't the problem -- it's the entire offense at present. I'm a Kevin Stefanski fan, but something is broken and no QB can fix it.

This is such a click bait headline. Sure, Windler didn't pan out. Do we really think Jordan Poole would have thrived on the pre-Mobley Cavs? Keldon Johnson? Come on. kingjamesgospel.com/cavaliers-ma...

"Death by Lightning", on Netflix, is off to a very promising start. It can't decide whether it's a rollicking comedy or a searing drama about the assassination of U.S. President James Garfield, but the cast is undeniable: Michael Shannon, Matthew McFadyen, Nick Offerman, Shea Whigham, and more.
