Panda Bear's "Sinister Grift" was my favorite album of 2025. Give it a listen. Swirling harmonies, moody pop hooks, music best listened to at dusk on a beach. Best comp is Beach House.

Quentin Tarantino is literally the only person in the world who thinks Paul Dano can't act. Am I wrong here?

I would have never guessed that a series about Christian Dior and Coco Chanel would be this great, but here we are! Can't recommend this enough, on Apple TV. John Malkovich's weird French accent alone is worth your time.

Globe Iron, #Cleveland

All Them Witches/King Buffalo show. This is a fantastic new venue in the Flats.

Things I have learned: Lou Reed received electroshock therapy at age 17, ostensibly to cure his "depression" and social isolation, but more likely to "treat his homosexual tendencies".

Interesting, well-researched and often infuriatingly pretentious book on Lou Reed, by Will Hermes. Almost finished, and will have more to say later on this month.

Season 2 of "A Man on the Inside" is uneven in spots, but the joke writing remains superb. It's great to see Ted Danson do his thing, and Lilah Richcreek makes the perfect contrast. Plus Mary Steenburgen, Gary Cole, Stephen McKinley, and HILARIOUS turns by Max Greenfield and Jason Mantzoukas.

Richard Linklater's new film "Nouvelle Vague" follows the typical how-was-this-movie-made formula, and recounts the making of "Breathless". Linklater honors Jean-Luc Godard by shooting the film in Paris, in black and white, and making it as French as possible. Recommended, on Netflix.

I forgot to give flowers to Jacob Elordi for his terrific performance as the Creature in "Frankenstein". Worth your time.

Guillermo del Toro's "Frankenstein" is available on Netflix, and every shot in this film feels like a work of art. Oscar Isaac and Christoph Waltz deliver powerhouse performances. But the film isn't very scary (despite heavy gore), and isn't that the point?

The #Browns could be starting Otto Graham, Brian Sipe and Bernie Kosar combined at QB these days, and the results would be the same. QB isn't the problem -- it's the entire offense at present. I'm a Kevin Stefanski fan, but something is broken and no QB can fix it.

"Death by Lightning", on Netflix, is off to a very promising start. It can't decide whether it's a rollicking comedy or a searing drama about the assassination of U.S. President James Garfield, but the cast is undeniable: Michael Shannon, Matthew McFadyen, Nick Offerman, Shea Whigham, and more.

Skubal and Skenes, barring injury, are both future Hall of Famers and deserving Cy Young winners. We're lucky to have them in the game.

Watched "Spartacus" again last night, the film that introduced the world to Stanley Kubrick. Villainous Olivier!! Charles Laughton! Tony Curtis with his Brooklyn accent! Worth your time, and you can break it up into three nights of view as well. One of Kubrick's more overlooked films, strangely.

"A House of Dynamite" feels like a pilot episode that could be expanded into several seasons. Director Kathryn Bigelow is an unquestioned master of ratcheting up the tension. And the movie features powerhouse performances from Tracy Letts, Idris Elba, and Rebecca Ferguson. I recommend, on Netflix.

Watched the new Roberto Clemente documentary on Hulu, which is terrific. They did a recap of the 1960 World Series Game 7, which ended on the famed Bill Mazeroski walkoff. That entire game was bonkers!! That is probably still the greatest Game 7 of all time, though this year's is way up there.

I was pretty "meh" on Gangs of New York when it first came out in 2002, but that's because I'm an idiot. Watched it again last night....fantastic film with a truly all-star cast. Available on Hulu.

Watched "Basic Instinct" for the first time in 30 years -- yes the movie was completely ridiculous (and offensive in spots). That said, it is also well-directed by the great Paul Verhoeven and Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas' performances both more than hold up. And a tremendous supporting cast.

It was a shame someone had to lose that Game 7. One of the all-time greatest games in the 122-year-old history of the Fall Classic. Congrats to the Dodgers, condolences to Toronto.

Somehow, Bieber's new stache is worse than Manzardo's. But he gets the Game 4 win!

About halfway through this, and so far so great!

Not only did the #Browns win yesterday, they did so in convincing fashion, Stefanski-style. Quinshon Judkins may make fans forget about Nick Chubb.

Joe Flacco's 342 passing yards in the Bengals' victory over the Steelers officially signals the coming end of the Kevin Stefanski era. If the Browns lose to Miami, that could happen in just a few days.

Sadly, Stefanski is more than likely to experience great success at his next stop.

If Ernie Clement doesn't win a Gold Glove this season, we riot.

I watched the Orion Kerkering game-ending error, and basically thought, "I could see myself doing the exact same thing". There are so many bang-bang plays in baseball where the world's top players revert back to grade school for just a split second, and they are human like the rest of us.
