Are you teaching undergraduate students in a language-related course this semester? Or, do you know some undergraduate students interested in language?
If so, I'd appreciate you sharing some info about a study I'm doing on podcasting and critical language awareness!

Well it's too late for this timely workshop but back over on the other platform I had found these posts by @lportwoodstacer.bsky.social‬ to be inspirational.
The conditions we’re dealing with are making it so hard to focus on writing & scholarship.

If you’d feel supported by having a dedicated hour to reconnect with why you’re writing a scholarly book in the first place, my free workshop on March 5 is for you

So I've been (continually) reading the news, the country & world are a %&*+ mess with more suffering than ever. I'm going to hide out, grateful for work & other sustenance, drink my petit café & read, write, and edit, edit, edit from this little corner of my sociolinguistics/anthropology universe🕊️

Several scholars of color and marginalized academics have said this several times on Twitter and here, but many people remain there because that’s where their communities reside and there are huge exit costs. Not everyone has the PRIVILEGE to leave a community behind.
I'm at a point where I'm honestly vaguely surprised that anyone who isn't an admitted fascist (or at least fascist-comfortable) and/or a corporate account is still actively on the former Twitter. The best time to have left is long gone, but the second-best time is now.

I’m not sure the rest of the country fully grasps the panic and anger building in DC, MD, and VA.

The entire economy of this area is about to collapse. Paychecks are stopping. Careers are ruined. Taxes are about to plummet. Yet no one seems able to stop this madness.
