#Hamas may have signed a #ceasefire that will bring an international force to #Israel & #Gaza but that doesn't mean it has given up - the @timesofisrael.com published my thoughts on how #Hamas will try to undermine international efforts to bring #Peace

One potential contributing country for an International Security Force for #Gaza is #Indonesia - which is why I'm particularly excited to see an article I co-wrote with @nirarielli.bsky.social on it will take to succeed published by the Jakarta Post!

Two years ago @nirarielli.bsky.social, Mary Elizabeth Walters and I built a research to team to examine what it would take to maintain a #Ceasefire in #Gaza. We published our latest piece on the topic with @us.theconversation.com!

Last week, the #UN voted to end #UNIFIL (its peacekeeping force in #Lebanon) after over 35 years. My latest article looks at why #Israel and others wanted it gone and what this might mean for the future - you can check it out here:

While Israel has little love for the peacekeepers, some of whom failed to stop attacks or even may have colluded in them, it may want a similar but better force on the Lebanon border

The attitudes that @jsargentr.bsky.social reports are common and why the #UrbanWarfareCenter was created. There is now a good community of people across multiple countries providing expertise on the issue....and yet it remains an uphill battle to get the #Army to really care.
For no reason, really.

Things I've been told about urban warfare by Army people:

"But, muh, we've got a guy on that." They're not pings, you can have more than 1.

"Urban warfare is not an integral part of strategic landpower." That was on day one or three of a new job. Cool, cool, I'm fine. 😭🥺
