John McCrae was a med student @utoronto.ca when his poetry was first published. As a soldier in Ypres, he wrote In Flanders Fields. Due in part to his poem, the poppy was adopted as the Flower of Remembrance for the war dead of Canada and other Commonwealth countries. #RemembranceDay #LestWeForget
