David Lawrence Schneider, 55, former Fairport Baptist Church pastor, pled guilty to aggravated sexual battery & 2 counts of taking indecent liberties w a child by a person in a custodial role. The rest of the 19 felony counts have been dismissed as part of his plea. Sentencing is 7/14.

It's Machiavellian. Southern Baptist officials baited clergy sex abuse survivors with a hotline.
Then instead of using it to help survivors or to out abusive pastors, they twisted it into a tool for their own ends, to justify their continuing refusal to keep records.
