I was listening to him read from it yesterday and it didn’t grab me then, but … 🤷🏻‍♀️ that means nothing.

Well, he’s certainly all grown up, and considering how long we really weren’t sure he would make it, he’s a great achievement! ❤️

I’m so sorry it’s been like that for you.

I think I’ve been lulled into a false sense of optimism by how well my parents were for so long. It’s clear no one can count on being that lucky.

I’m surprised by how quickly the feeling has overwhelmed me. If you’d asked me just two years ago, I think I’d have predicted I’d work another decade and I probably had two more ‘jobs’ in me. Not any more.

I expected to stay working until all four of mine were well on the path to independent adulthood, to help them out. Youngest is only 18.

I had sort of expected another 5 years, but I really don’t think I’ve got it in me.

(That thought was prompted by the death of Quentin Willson, aged 68. I remember him slightly from seeing Top Gear over DH’s shoulder. I didn’t want to hijack a thread for true fans mourning.)

Galliano L’Autentico is a bit special and I don’t often use it because a Harvey Wallbanger means going to the effort of squeezing an actual orange. So - now on the hunt for other Galliano cocktails.
