The Dawlish - Teignmouth railway line feels like the absolute front line of climate adaptation in Britain (a test we are not passing so far).

And yet somehow, somehow, this article manages to go in-depth on the problems with the line without mentioning the climate once. The sea is literally higher!
Fresh fears for South West's rail link in Dawlish after storms
Taxpayer money has flowed into fixing the rail line connecting Cornwall with the rest of the UK - but the elements have other ideas.

The end of the weekend, toasted with an Abbey*.

*An Abbey is made with a 3/4 shot of orange juice. The gorgeous ruby colour of this cocktail is because I used freshly squeezed blood orange juice. ❤️

Reading lots of terrible reviews of Wuthering Heights and it only makes me more determined to see it, because I very much Do Not Love the book, so I’m perfectly happy to watch it be butchered in a whole range of ways.

(Soundtrack is a banger regardless.)
The trailers were for:

Rental Family
H is for Hawk
The History of Sound
Wuthering Heights

The middle two look as though they’ll be terrific. The first might be interesting. The last looks absolutely preposterous, but since I don’t love the book, I might go along to see how it plays as ‘romp’.

Six Nations rugby is shared between BBC and ITV and I select the right channel each time about as often as I get a USB charger the right way up.

The world’s in a pretty bad place and headlines everywhere are dispiriting, but the amount of Muppet love scattered through the timeline suggests there may still be hope for humanity.

See, Twickenham is way dryer than the Stadio Olympico, but Freeman already has more mud on him than both sides had by the end of the earlier match. What’s that all about?

My questions are:

- is the grass real grass? and
- if it is, what’s underneath the grass?

because I can’t understand how they’re not filthy from head to toe with play this soggy.

The amount of splashing coming off this pitch in Rome each time a man splats is incredible. Like they’re playing in a paddling pool!

I’m about 4 days into a heavy head cold and all that flopping around like a Victorian lady with The Vapours has turned my midsection to such jelly that I fear slipping a disk if I cough!

DH: Aha! It’s 20yo.
20yo: Do you want me to do something?
Me: *chuckles knowingly*
DH: Well, if you WANT to come and help me take all the bottles to the bottle bank, that’d be great.
