Remember calories don’t count on a Monday or if you’re on your (checks notes) third global economic collapse before your first colonoscopy so…

Agreed, random person on my Discover feed. That flick is an enchanting, wild ride
shouting into a wind composed of eleven people who already know this but HEAVENLY CREATURES (1994) is sensational & riveting in every respect and is a blood-soaked deathmatch between Melanie Lynskey and Kate Winslet to see who can steal more of the movie

it's GREAT.
oh yeah, another fav that somehow I forgot til now; Richard Taylor's work on Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures, and the murderous teens 'Borovnia' fantasy world of plasticine people

surprised that this isnt talked about as much in terms of Weta's filmography, its a great effect for a great film

I mentioned at work yesterday that the Heaven’s Gate thing went down “this day in ‘97” - one of the first breaking news events I followed all day on CNN (prob spring break 7th grade)

My slightly younger coworkers have seen docs on it since, but that was kinda the intro to my love for journalism

Today I learned that there is a National Microsoft Office Specialist Championship for people between the ages of 13-22. This concept is absolutely insane to me

I‘ve had the most amazing times in Canada over several trips. I hate that bad actors are pitting our countries against each other. I love my Canadian neighbours and am planning a road trip soon

I’m really looking forward to seeing The Faint, Modest Mouse and Rilo Kiley (right…right?!) this year. Of course, it’s after I left my venue gig. Just take me back to my college years again, please

I only have bandwidth for a little levity after these first few days:

So, we’re getting at least one new Desaparecidos album out of this, right?

I got a new computer and it’s messing with playlists on my phone so I just put my whole music library on shuffle, and it is unhinged. It delivered in order: Portishead, NWA, Four Tops, Cursive, Tori Amos. What a ride

I don’t do the Spotify and I always feel a lil left out, but I can guarantee my top two bands this year were Modest Mouse and Belle & Sebastian

Just heard a remix of “Brimful of Asha” in a German VW ad and it’s a reminder that that entire Cornershop record is criminally underrated.
