What is one simple act of resistance that will absolutely infuriate any authoritarian determined to make the world ignore pandemics and climate change?

Wearing a mask.

I am following the cue of Gazans celebrating on the streets and trying to feel some joy. I’m facing how numb I’ve become in order to survive. I longed for this moment for 467 days, and it’s here. And I don’t know how to access my feelings about it.

Yeah you know what we’re not going to do as another pandemic looms on the horizon?? This ableist nonsense about age and pre-existing conditions that is meant to trick people into not caring about each other enough to disregard basic public health precautions.

I don’t know what it will take to understand that there is no death toll in Gaza high enough for the Israelis

Merry Christmas, y'all.

Thinking of those for whom this holiday is lonely, difficult, traumatic.

Thinking of those who struggle to find food, housing, or medicine for themselves or their families.

Thinking of all the people unable to celebrate at all.

And as always, thinking of Palestine.

This world is broken.
