I am using this account to showcase submisions to help you perhaps see the range of photographs sent, and how it is often possible to determine why they are NOT human.

Despite this, due in part to the growth of interest in forensic science in the past five or so years, I have increased, almost daily, submissions to my workplace of photograph purporting to be potential human remains.

Again, this is extremely unlikely.

I should emphasise from the outset, finding human bones is incredibly, incredibly rare indeed. Bones in idolation are often found by trained archeologists, in identified locations, where ground surveys have already revealed remains of some kind.

As part of any social dynamic, you are often asked the same questions regularly; in my case this is often from people who have found bones or detritus in their gardens, which they suspect are human remains.
