Nice layout of the issues & takeaways below. To note: the re-analysis is being cited in the media as saying that the contested article "informed policy" at the World Bank. The only supporting citation is a technical WB working paper published in 2021. The contested paper was published in ... 2024.

This is such an obvious assault on science. Like the peer-reviewed process is flawless and methane comes from 'Sudanese Wetlands'

There are 6-7 separate reports which say the same thing, incl. the Swiss Re report (2021) which predicted 18% GDP reduction (couched), but did not include tipping points

This is Japan's yield curve way back to 2000: (i) the BoJ policy rate (white); (ii) the 10-year JGB yield (orange); (iii) the 30-year JGB yield. A country with debt-to-GDP of 240% obviously shouldn't have long-term yields near zero. We're finding out how high yields need to go. Price discovery...

The first measles death in the US in a decade -- the tragic, preventable death of a child whose parents chose not to protect them with vaccination -- should spark an immediate nation-wide campaign to ensure all children are protected against preventable diseases. Anything less is unconscionable.
