At the end of the day, it always the artist's getting fucked over.

And despite their plea's and attempts to fix it otherwise, the systems in place are either unable or unwilling to do anything for them.

This is not the last artist you will see this happen to.

bsky.app/profile/isit...
And all the while, Spotify will continue to pay about 0.04 cents every 10 streams to their artists.

So who again is getting fucked over?

Small artists. It's always small artists.

It looks like Apple Music didn't even let them upload anything.

Food for thought, if it truly wasn't Spotify's fault, wouldn't it be a problem for other platforms?

You don't have to answer that. (Even though you probably already know)

Man, this scammer has 0 followers and almost no traction on this platform.

Maybe it's because Amazon didn't allow the scammer to replace the artist's original track on their service, funneling any users that had it in their playlists to the spoofed track, therefore skyrocketing any ad revenue gain.

Funny story about Amazon Music, you'll never guess who I found on that platform.

This is an example of flagrant and blatant abuse of their systems and it is pathetic that they seemingly are unable to provide a solution to the artist. No other platforms have this issue, the original track is still available on Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, any of the others.

In the replies of this twitter post, Casey has stated that it's not Spotify's fault, which I desperately want to believe.
But frankly, I think it's impossible for them to be entirely remiss of blame.
They may not be the ones directly uploading these tracks, but they are facilitating this behavior.

The crazy thing, is that unless I'm misunderstanding, this is not the first time that this has happened to @composercasey.bsky.social as it appears that they have been trying to fight this since JULY.

Here's the "artist" that is pulling off the scam, as now you can no longer find the single underneath Casey Edwards artists account.

The track plays have been transferred over, but the meta-data is all from the scam. Spotify has been presenting it as the legitimate song.

BUT IT'S LITERALLY NOT.
