New platform, new introduction!

Hi I’m Ishana, a PhD student at UC Davis. My work focuses on how mammalian and vegetative communities respond to large carnivore reintroductions, so if you think we have an overlap, I’d love to connect!

“… scientific studies have shown that beavers improve water quality, stabilise water flows during times of drought and flood, and give a huge boost to habitats and to other wildlife. Given the climate and nature crises, we need beavers back in the wild to give us a hand to resolve these challenges.”

Anyone have any favorite charities focused on either equity issues or conservation (or both!) that could use some resources right now?

Hey science friends?

I know that many of you are concerned about the perceived neutral and apolitical role of science in decisionmaking.

But scientists are being targeted. We didn't start it.

And advocating *for the role of scientific evidence in policymaking* is not unprofessional advocacy.

I think many people forget that recruitment is just a small part of the story, and retainment/ inclusion need just as much (if not more) sustained effort
