I love books, tell me about what you've been reading!
I feel like the discourse on this app is just so rancid. wtf is going on

I feel like over the past two or three years we have unfortunately learned that there is in fact a female equivalent of the guy who flips the fuck out when you criticize misogyny in video games, and its people still posting about the wizard book series

Many are asking about my kingdom's 'Complete Yurification' decree. "What of the men?" is the question I have been asked. Worry not, dear citizens, men will be given the option of [Yurification] or will be sent on an all expenses paid one way trip to the Isle of Dudes

It was a privilege and a pleasure to spend an afternoon with pro surfer Sasha Jane Lowerson up in Ventura this March, as she got back in the water after months of recovery from gender-affirming surgeries. She’s catching waves like never before.

I just found out that a bunch of the music I like was licensed for the shadowhunters tv show and I am honestly feeling so attacked right now. Like, why do I have to share that in common with the incest romance plagiarism show??

Honestly so sick of hearing about new types of guy. Where are the news types of girl. where are the new types of bees.

Oh. Oh hun.
my kid, who is almost 6, is finally showing active interest in reading/writing.

I’m helping her write a sentence by telling her which letters to write, and she paused to say, “the people who write books better get paid because this is a lot of work”

oh, child… 😭

honestly, I thought everyone was talking about Anna Kendrick, the actress. I just accepted it. In my defense, even when I have the energy to keep up with the news i try to tune out pop culture stuff

Seriously: People have so much grief & rage & trauma & pain, these days, and so so many of us seem absolutely adamantly opposed to acknowledging that, let alone doing anything about it. It's honestly sad, in the abstract, & just so deeply wearying when they decide to make it everyone else's problem.
