I don't know who needs to hear this, but opposing GenAI is not about opposing technology, it's about opposing capitalists.

GenAI is not a technology: it's a massive automation of theft, masquerading as an industry, run by grifters.

Don't hate computers, hate the capitalists behind the curtain.

Weird that writers and artists are consistently acceptable losses when it comes to which battles to pick. Are you so gullible as to think that "placeholder text" and "moodboards" are where execs expect this to stop, or are they waiting for this shit to be 'good enough' to replace their workers?

If there's a better feeling in life than tinkering with a mechanical component trying to isolate and then replicate an inconsistent hitch in the mechanism while slowly losing your mind because you can't pin down why the mechanism is having issues I don't want to know what it is. 🤪

Keeping kids safe can't come at the expense of our free speech rights.
The Age-Gated Internet Is Sweeping the US. Activists Are Fighting Back
Half of the country now requires age verification to watch porn or access “harmful” content. Digital rights advocates are pushing back against legislation they say will make the internet less safe.

Spotify is garbage on every count: Its treatment of artists, its ICE advertising, the CEO's investment in military AI, its leading role in the commodification and AI slopification of music, its terrible audio quality—you name it.

So I quit, and put together a complete guide to getting off Spotify:

IMO, it raises the question of how useful are executives?
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?

Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

Trump's economy is being held up by a massive AI bubble.

A recent study found that of 300 companies that owned generative AI tools, 95% reported zero return on their investments.

We will not entertain a bailout of these companies should this bubble pop.

I cannot tell you how many tech journalists at prominent media organizations do not understand this
Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.
