I know there’s lots of talk about 2026, but there’s a big election in Tennessee December of THIS year. Pay attention to Aftyn Behn, running for Congress in Tennessee’s 7th District. She’s 35 & a former social worker. A recent poll had her within the margin of error. Republicans are running scared.

If your case is so weak the country will “die” unless the Court takes your side, maybe the real threat isn’t the Court. Pressuring SCOTUS with “life or death” rhetoric is a textbook warning indicator in our assessment of accelerating authoritarian dynamics.

I had the pleasure of visiting New York last year (my first time in the states actually) and it remains one of my favourite trips of all time. There was an electricity in the air I’ve not felt anywhere else. So I’m especially pleased to see Mamdani elected mayor. It’s living up to its reputation.

Labour needs to take a good long look at the results coming out of the US last night and get a grip of themselves. They can start by ditching Kier and beginning again.
