Pretty sure the tariffs announcement was meant to distract us from the dismantling of the government. Mexico and Canada decided not to play along.

Do not wait for other people to act. Do not wait for someone else to call the play. These are unprecedented times with an unhinged, anti-democratic fascist enabled by a cowardly GOP. If you're scared, take action. We're all scrambling right now and courage is contagious.

Our classrooms are meant to be safe, welcoming spaces for all to learn and grow. Allowing ICE into classrooms has a chilling effect on students. It means drops in attendance, distractions from learning, and anxiety for kids and educators. www.wbur.org/news/2025/01...
School leaders reassure families as fears spread over feds' immigration crackdown
The move comes after Trump rescinded a policy that kept schools off limits from immigration raids and arrests.

Let's continue defunding public education! I am sure it will make everything better... or, maybe not!
More eighth graders in the U.S. are getting low scores on a federal reading test now than at any time in the exam's three-decade history.

Question of the day: is America great yet?
January 29, 2025 at 12:12 AM
And how is this making America great?
The Trump administration ordering US public health officials to stop working with the World Health Organization endangers America and global health. There is literally not a single rational argument that supports this inane and shortsighted decision.

If tomorrow your favorite restaurant is understaffed, your landscapers do not show up, the nursing home where your grandparents live does not have enough staff, the stores do not have enough product on the shelves and so much more... you know who to thank.

Less than a week into the new administration, America does not feel great. Medical research is defunded, professionals who work in the government are being fired, and completely unfit people are being appointed to powerful positions. To top it off, I paid $8.99 for a dozen eggs today!

The American dream became the American nightmare. After decades of progress, a small group of billionaires are succeeding at sending us all back in time. It is all for money and power.

Thank you President Biden for over 50 years of public service! President Biden accomplished more for Americans and workers than almost any previous president. He is the most pro-labor president in history, and his legacy will last for generations. We are grateful for your service!

Yesterday, we found a bullet shell on the sidewalk while walking our dog. Next door to our house, in an affluent and safe suburb. It was from a rifle, as confirmed by the Police officer who came to the call. Today, kids were killed again in a school in America. This is America, and I am sick of it.

Conversation with my 12 years old son: "in case of a school shooting, I will not follow the drills. The shooter most likely went through the shooter drills and knows what we are doing". We do not have to live like this. Guns and free access to guns are the problem. Nobody is safe!

Seems like there is a school shooting every day in the US. Nobody is immune to gun violence, and until we all agree to do something about it, this will only get worse. We can end gun violence!
