The biggest problem with this is that, whilst tinkering around the edges, they tacitly acquiesce to the vision of the tech barons - and we know enough about the barons to think that their vision may not be the best one for our societies.

They're unable or unwilling to 'take control' of digitalisation and protect society from the harms of a fourth industrial revolution, fearing that if they discourage the tech companies, the gravy train stops and nobody eats. They have no grand vision of their own so they tinker around the edges.

Is there a cultural problem? Policymakers outside of the extreme right don't see themselves as social architects or landscapers any more - just gardeners or maintenance crew. They let market forces shape the environment, and relegate themselves to reducing harm...

We have to choose good every day. We have to choose acceptance and equality and equity and justice. None of us are inherently beyond that. And the first step to doing good is recognising that you aren’t better than anyone else.

If they're doing it with joy I ain't gonna be the one to kill it. Let dudes have their fun. If they're doing it to be cool then yeah have at em, OP

That there exist tiers of wealth beyond which it is literally impossible to ever make enough bad financial decisions to impoverish yourself no matter how puddingbrained you are is something we either have to eliminate or else make that the case for all people at all income levels.

He's had vacant spaces on the bench, and rather run Ekitike and Wirtz to cramping up, than bring on Ngumoha. Seen Macca run totally out of steam in the last 20 mins of some games, and still left Nyoni on the bench. He's chosen not to trust them. I just think Klopp makes one or two different choices.

The squad is so thin. I'm not talking about starting, either - I'm talking about the last 10-15 when starters are tiring. And they are tiring, badly.

One of Slot's great traits last season appeared to be how he refused to mollycoddle players; he treated them as responsible adults. He gave them high standards and expected them to live up to them. But young players (and perhaps ageing superstars!) need more; an injection of faith and belief.

Witness also the absolute reluctance to use the talented Ngumoha since the start of the season, despite Cody's injury. It looks as if Slot's lack of belief in the young kids diminishes their own faith in themselves - contrary to the Klopp effect on them.

Nyoni, a silky passing midfielder, seemingly asked to come on up front to receive, protect and hold onto the ball in a cauldron frenzy - and subsequently gave it away with his first involvement. You can't help but think Klopp would have done different, or inspired better somehow.

Kinda fine if there is connectedness and imagination going on on the right side of the attack, with Salah, Trent and Dom last season, skewing the play towards them and letting Cody thrive as an island.

Yep, Gakpo's natural gifts of physical power, good technique and eye for a goal are there but he's not connected, imaginative or varied enough. I'd love him to spend this time looking at the video for moments to go on the outside, and moments to play in his fullback.

Interesting how in each of these stills there is nobody making a near post run for the cutback

There is something incredibly ironic in your reply!
