I’m beginning to think the whole being a raging fascist thing isn’t a distraction from being a lifelong pedophile, but that he’s both a raging fascist AND a lifelong pedophile

This is where I've worked for over 30 years. My sadness is matched by my anger. This is ALL due to the Orange Shitgibbon and Afrikaners Hitler.

Playing around with an adapter that let's you attach a smartphone to the eyepiece of a telescope. Here's Jupiter and its four large moons, taken earlier tonight.

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

We can even dance in the dark.

The constellation Orion on the left faces off against bright Jupiter and nearby star Aldebaran on the right, with Mars refereeing at the top.

My father was born 105 years ago today. He would be angered and ashamed at what this country is becoming. We need to fix this, now.

A comment of mine from LiveJournal from Nov. 2006: "As homosexuals achieve more civil rights and respect, the irrepressible Need to Hate will have to find a new focus. It'll be atheists. Give it about 10 more years."

I wish it had turned out that way, to spare LGBTQ+ persons.

I think we're close to martial law. It remains to be seen if they'll wait for or dream up some semi-plausible excuse, or just outright declare it. Then no more Congress -- not that it'd be missed -- and more importantly no more Supreme Court or any other federal court.

Last night I went to bed early because, as I told my wife, it had been a fucking shitty day and I wanted it to be over. Most of my angst was from worrying over the likely layoffs at my employer that will be directly caused by the actions of POTUS and collaborators.

Still exploring settings on my phone, and searching for a tripod. All my sky pictures thus far have been handhelds. This is the moon (not full) and Mars again, at about 1 o'clock up from the moon.

I wish every single person who voted for Il Douche eventually catches bird flu. Too harsh? Not harsh enough? Note that I didn't say "catches bird flu and dies."

So in the last week I've seen for the first time the movie "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" and the play "Death of a Salesman." Might be time for some romcoms and screwball comedies.

Mars in the center with the star Pollux above it, with Castor to the right. I like this photo because it nicely shows more stars than I can see with my eyes alone in my heavily light-polluted sky.

Tried to take a photo of the moon-Venus conjunction, but between the clouds and a phone camera not really up to the task, I didn't get results I liked. I did take one shot then messed around with it and got this moody looking thing which I could imagine on the cover of a book of spooky stories.
