if you have democrat rep/senators i recommend calling and reminding them you will never vote for them again if they bend the knee on this. shutting down the government is the correct choice. that is the exact phrasing in my 3 calls and it took 5 min total

I love early Twilight Zone's focus on chumps&losers. It's fairly consistent throughout, but especially in S1, the intro is always Serling going "look at this idiot, this heel of a dipshit. He's got a dick smaller than a Nazi's conscience, and he's going to get his ass kicked...in the Twilight Zone."
Rewatching "asteroid jail with my robot wife" (s1e7 The Lonely) and there's an eerily prescient passage where he talks about how his robot wife loves what he loves, has learned to enjoy what he does; he loves his own reflection, and it's enough for him, but it ensnares him.
The 50s were wild because some story TZ lines are "what if the world was consumed in nuclear fire and the only survivor broke his glasses, wouldn't that suck" and others are "CATGIRLS ARE GONNA KILL YOU IN YOUR SLEEP" and also there's that classic "living in asteroid jail with my robot wife"

Being terminally online is weird. I have family that can't tell what's fake anymore. They'll send me a video of a Baby Tiger in a Sombrero hugging a 2 year old, & when I say "that's done with computers" they don't believe me. It's like wearing those glasses from they live 24/7.
