My previous house was a 1930 build, so tons of history. This one is one of three 1999 houses, however, all built on a former builder’s yard, so if I was inclined to think/believe of ghosts, it could be from that.

True! The downstairs loo is in the utility room, along with the washing machine and both vacuum cleaners. Freaked me the f**k out that this sprang into life, randomly, and I’m there somewhere more vulnerable than if I was fully-trousered.

I’ve had this happen twice in the past few years. The first time with a cordless Dyson vacuum, while I was in the downstairs loo, and it was in the same room. The second, a small electric face brush (me neither!) that randomly sprang into life at 3am.

Plus I have a guest room, so you’d be welcome to stop over.

If you ever want to meet halfway (via train) I know the best real ale pubs in Reading. It’s not a great town, but it’s easy to get to!

Seriously! My “local” has the finest beers known to humanity! It’s also about 300 m from the train station # justsayin.

Also, if you fancy a trip to Bath, that is a further 11 minutes on the train
